Larry, I am sad to hear of Judy’ s illness. I hope the operation was successful. Keep the faith and fight the good fight. God bless you and yours.
Patty and I send our prayers and best wishes to Judy. We know you will be OK. Take good care of her, Larry.
Larry & Judy,
Glad they were able to identify EXACTLY what and where the problem was and got it out!
Take whatever chemo or radiation they recommend. Cancer is such a tenacious bastard that it takes extradinordinary means to get it all.
Wishing you luck and will be thinking of you both.
Mitch
Larry, Judy and family-
I am so sorry to hear of the problem and want to forward our best wishes and prayers. Take time to heal and then spend time enjoying what you love in life. GOD bless and keep you well.
Larry and Judy,
Please know that you are always in our prayers and particularly in this difficult time. God will surely find it in his goodness to provide a total cure. We love you guys!
Larry And Judy
I pray that Judy has a quick and complete recovery. I’ts been a honor to be your friend.
Larry
Sorry to hear about Judu’s problem. Putting up with you would be reson for anyone to smoke….. and I am not just refering to cigaettes….. Hell, I have addictions just being your friend….. Judy….. Hang tough….. My daughter just went thru a bunch of the cancer shit and you can beat this stuff. Be Tuff…. Larry will teach you to be a grunt…. YOU CAN BEAT THIS SHIT….. BE TOUGH…. I’m here for you if you need me………
The week after Judy and I got home from the reunion, we found out Judy had a tumor in her lungs. Last Wednesday, they removed about the lower and middle lobe of her right lung which is somewhere around 35% of her total lung capacity. The tumor was cancerious, but they think they got all the cancer. She got out of the hospital today, but we are to stick around in Amarillo, TX until Friday so she can get her stiches removed and another doctor visit. It doesn’t look like she will have to have chemo.
Her doctor is 99.45678% sure the cancer was caused by two decades of smoking. Quite a price to pay.
so sry to hear that—am glad for good news—–thnx for all you do. Larry, this is Frances please tell Judy she is in our prayers. We have been that route with cancer and there is lots of good help out there for you besides all of us. A great and fantastic site is http://www.caringbridge.org where you can go to set up a site where you and Judy can go and friends can visit through that site. We have one for Lawrence and it is http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lawrence. God Bless
Larry,
My heart goes out to you and Judy and I hope and pray that she fully recovers. With the great surgeons and medical advancements we have today, I’m confident that Judy will be fine in time, but right now I know it’s pretty painful and difficult for her. My friends wife had a similar surgery 3 weeks ago and she is 100% cancer free according to her doctors. Judy should be the same as well.
LT:
No. Locate-A-Brother was an organization started by a guy named Tony May. His intention was to find eveyone who ever served in the 196th. He started it after some sort of split within the 196th.org group, but after a couple of big reunions which did not meet expenses, I believe he just quietly shut it down. In any case, the website no longer works, at least for me.
I don’t believe that the 196 locate a brother site is a research site but only one where you can post that you are looking for someone and hope someone can help you. Gary, right or wrong?
Short Round … Congrats on your recent marriage…..Brandon….Thanks for the reunion pictures. They look great
Thanks Bill, glad you liked them!
The 196th LIB Association is still going strong. It’s Tony May’s Locate-A-Brother which has shut down.
Jim,
I asked Warren Neil who is the President of the 196th LIB Vets Organization and he said it is no longer functioning. If you have someone you are specifically trying to locate you can email Warren and he may be able to help you out.
LT
Brandon: Looks like the “Locate a Brother” link may be history. What do you find?
Removed the dead link, thanks Jim.

I’m in Queen Creek for another week and a half. Give me a call on my cell (480) 648-7851. maybe we can hook up one of the days I am here. Doing a lot of kid sitting for my daughter. Her 5 year old is pretty easy to handle. Once he finishes the PT drills he is very low key. Anyway, give me a shout.

GREAT site!
Thanks! Just sent the password, and I think I’ve sent it to all below who have requested it as well.
Sorry LT…. I can’t help you with that question. Aug of 70 I was back in Chicago taking care of business Bangkok style……
Hey guys:
Since I got back from St. Louis, I sat down and reread the letters I had sent to my parents from Vietnam. In one of the letters I sent dated Aug 28, 1970 I mentioned that there were two survivors from the Chinook shot down at LZ Judy. Which corroborates some of the discussions I had last week. Does anyone have any idea how we might be able to identify the survivor other than the co-pilot Mr. Ried????
brandon,
lt shepherd i cant get on the site need username i have password . get work still cant see photos. my emailed is bshepwva@yahoo.com thanks
I’ve sent everyone below the password to the roster. Just FYI, it is the only password you need, please ignore the “Login” link as it is only used to maintain the content on the site and doesn’t have anything else which you’re missing out on or anything.
Nice to meet you as well Mitch.
Brandon, Nice to finally meet you face-to-face in STL. I need to know how to sign on and any other passwords to navigate into the various secret parts of the site.
Thanks, Mitch
Brandon,

Brandon-
Thanks! I got into the roster and ccould run the reunion photos slideshow but not others. Whatever you did helped. Thanks again.
Brandon,
Looks good but after loading mozilla and trying some other stuff still can’t get photos to run on flicker. Also please email me roster password. The new site looks good and the photos and graphics are crisp. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT!
Do you mean that you can’t view slideshows for any of the images? I think I’ve figured-out why the slideshow is broken for some people, but I need some time to fix it.
I did fix one gallery when I was looking into the problem that you can test with– see if you can view the slideshow for the 2009 Reunion that I just posted– that one should work.
Great new website. Sorry I couldn’t make it to St. Louis, but there’s always next time.
yes brandon you have done a great job–was glad to meet you in st. louis. lt, larry, mitch, dan, gary, ken,TOP, and all the rest was glad to remeet and get reaquainted with each and everyone. me and frances had a wonderful time sr sorry you couldn’t make it downed a couple for you and congrads on your new role .
I want to thank everyone involved in putting on a wonderful reunion. Especially the wives because I know the guys like Mitch, LT, and Larry learned how to follow orders many, many, many years ago.
I already posted this under the site news, but I thought you guys would like to know that the reunion photos I took have been posted.
Larry,
I believe we hit a home run! I never had a better time than this one!
Chuck–You better believe I gave Top many hugs. It was phenomenal to see him, He looks great.
Those of you that couldn’t make it, I feel real sad for you as the bond is much stronger now!
S.R. Congrats on getting married. didn’t know that was in the works. Well, I guess you are in for some lifestyle changes.
L.T. You have a lot of soda!!!!! what has marriage done to you. Larry will have nothing to do with the soda. Make sure you give Top a big reach around for me.
Sgt. Fury behave……
Fast Eddie…. slow down on the beers….Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Rex…. I knew you would bail out…
LT Homaki, Sir, I served with C 2/1 from Nov 69 to Oct 70. I would like to know if I can have a copy of the DVD u made at the reunion last year in Hilton Head. My email address is ivernf@yahoo.com. I will pay for it. thanks, King Ferguson
Sure, no problem. Just e-mail me your address (sahomoki@hotmail.com) and I’ll get it out to you asap. And you already paid for it (Nov 69-Oct 70). HOMOKI
Nice to see the new page open. The new password I was sent for the roster opens the page, but there are no names, only email addies and phone numbers.
My problem or just a glitch?
@Jim
You should be able to see names, addresses, etc. I think it’s probably a browser problem. It might be easier to download and try Firefox than trying to get Internet Explorer updated and current. Try downloading and installing it at http://getfirefox.com and you should be able to see them just fine.. or maybe try upgrading Internet Explorer at http://update.microsoft.com
Can you give it a try again? I made a slight adjustment to the page which unintentionally seemed to fix it for someone else who was on IE 8, so maybe it will work for you now too?
Brandon: Still only phone #’s and email addies, no names. Seems a strange problem.
Jim
wow–what a change–this really work ? it`s like a new A.O.–unfamiliar. larry at the RnR site already is NO surprise after hearing what chuck,. fast eddy, rex, and a few others that casually mentioned larry having more RnR`s even in country.
i would comment on our fine marine buddies, but will refrain at present.
hope all goes well there–and all have a good time. my new wife is workin me harder than a grunt on sandbag filing, after a 10 click hump. good thing i`m in shape. be well all-s.r.
Larry,
I have a lot of pop, some beer and some munchies to get us started. I will also bring a cooler and a boom box to play the Homeland tapes. Could you maybe find out if they have equipment that we could project the DVD I have from them. It would be a nice touch to play and show the National Anthem that they have on it. I will recheck with the color guard tomorrow and see if he has a cell phone #. If nothing else I hope to be around noon on Thursday.
I arrived at the R & R center a few hours ago and I have the place secure for your arrival!
Hey, Short Round, if you end up coming, there is no Jarhead bases around here and I have not seen any Jarheads.
I stopped by and woke up Jungle Jim Hansford in Columbia, Mo on my way here. He works nights for the postal service. He said he is coming to St. Louis Saturday.
Testing the site…. Fire for effect….
It’s working!
Test
Thanks, Brandon…a long time coming, but worth the wait.
The roster link does not work…maybe it is not there yet?
Will try the guest book.
Thanks for giving this priority and for the work ahead to update roster, put in reunion 20008 and photos. In ten years there won’t be as many of us around to input, but at least our children will research using this site.
Thanks, Mitch
Yes, a long time coming but worth the wait. Excellent work Brandon. The site is cleaner, easier to navigate and has a more crisp appearance.
Now, for the updating of rosters, 2008 reunion, photos, etc.
Thanks for giving this priority.
Mitch
Pictures looking good. Great job Brandon.
Test
This is a test.
Brandon,
Looks excellent. You have done a great job on the pics. Keep up the good work. I am impressed.
