2010 Washington DC Reunion Notice

C COMPANY 2/1 196 LIGHT INFANTRY BRIGADE
2010 Reunion Information
Alexandria**, VA

When:      August 28-31, 2010

LETS ALL GO TO WASHINGTON, DC!

Since I could not find a hotel in Gettysburg, PA which would not require convoying into town everyday, with your permission, I moved the reunion to Alexandria, VA, just across the Potomac River from Washington, DC.

We’ll be staying at the *Hampton Inn/Old Town King St. **Metro hotel*, in the heart of a very nice, safe area of shops and restaurants. They gave us a $100 break on their usual rate and, most importantly, it’s just a block away from the King St. Metro station. On the Metro, we can go anywhere in DC and never have to move our cars! All the attractions on The Mall, including The Wall, the Capitol building, White House, Lincoln and Washington monuments and the Smithsonian are just a short train ride away. The Metro even stops at Arlington National Cemetery, a must see.

The rate is $129 per night, plus taxes and parking ($7.50 per day), for 3 nights. Rooms will be available at that rate for those who wish to come early or stay late. Reservations must be individually made by July 27, 2010, and that can be done either by calling the hotel direct at (703) 299-9900, or by visiting our reunion website at:
http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/WASALHX-C21-20100828/index.jhtml

If you fly in, try to book a flight into Ronald Reagan Airport and just catch the Blue or Yellow Line Metro train south to the King St. station. Airport baggage is allowed on the trains that far. The hotel is right there! Flying into Dulles or BWI will require a taxi ride.
